November 2008
International media consultancy MediaXchange has teamed up with Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, to present “Participation Drama – Beyond the Water Cooler Exchange,” a speaker session and reception on the inspiration of new ideas, new technology and new revenue streams in the international arena of television drama. The collaboration was jointly established by MediaXchange CEO, Katrina Wood, and Theodore Garcia, Capgemini strategy and transformation leader, for media and entertainment in North America.
When:
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Capgemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment in Burbank, CA.
Who: This invitation-only event will feature, Christopher Sandberg, CEO of Sweden-based, The company P, and 2008 International Interactive Emmy® Award winner, who will elaborate on generating opportunities to unleash the full potential of TV drama through combining audience participation with more traditional TV entertainment models, and the potential impact this will have on discovering new audiences and attendant financial revenue streams. Together with local and international participating experts, leading drama professionals from networks, studios and production companies, and writing creatives, Sandberg and his contemporaries will engage in dialogue essential for those professionals involved in the drama genre.
What: As part of this inaugural forum, Capgemini and MediaXchange will release the results and findings from the 2008 Drama Summit: New Frontiers, New Partners, held in Los Angeles in June. Entitled “Reinventing Television: The Future of the Television Drama,” the report discusses what is in store for the worldwide entertainment industry using insights from the industry’s most forward-looking individuals. These findings are as surprising as they are pervasive; providing the global market with key recommendations to address the changes in television audiences and in the methods of storytelling. In addition, shifts across platforms, creative and financial and business models will play a vital role in the next step towards the Future of TV Drama.
