When her husband’s plane goes down with no survivors, a young wife’s perfect existence is destroyed. However, a few days later, she discovers by chance that he never actually got on the plane…so begins the hit new Turkish series SON (“THE END”). It’s just been acquired for a US adaptation by production company Sander Moses, as Turkish drama finally reaches the West.

We look forward to meeting the successful applicants joining the second year of this high level training and think tank for European scriptwriters, producers and broadcasters in Berlin. Presented by MediaXchange in association with the Erich Pommer Institut and MEDIA, amongst the speakers will be Jimmy Desmarais of Haut et Court’s Les Revenants and Jens Richter, Managing Director of Red Arrow International.

ITVF Turkey:

KATRINA WOOD TO MODERATE
AT ITVF TURKEY

Following MediaXchange’s recent successful collaboration and moderation of the ’closed door’ Co-Production Summit at MIP TV, Katrina Wood has been asked to moderate the Co-Production segment of the Istanbul TV Forum and Fair (ITVF), to be held in Turkey on June 20th-22nd.

The ITVF aims to enhance cooperation and widen communication channels across the EMEA TV industry and their global counterparts with a vision to become the industry’s premier annual meeting platform in this dynamic and growing region.

Joining Katrina, as Keynote speakers in the Co-Production session will be US writer John Pielmeier (Pillars of the Earth) who will deliver his keynote on ‘Writing What Matters’, and veteran producer James Flynn (Vikings, Borgias and Tudors), who will outline how Ireland has built its audiovisual industry and the reasons behind the strength of its drama international co-productions.

The panel segment will be comprised of the keynote speakers Adem Gürses, General Manager at ATV, Pelin Kaya, Executive producer at Bocek Yapim, Fadi Ismail, Director of Drama Production and Distribution for 03/MBC Group; as well as Luis Silveira, General Secretary of the Brazilian Producers Association.
