Katrina Wood is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MediaXchange Ltd., established with the specific goal to provide senior level media professionals with a versatile and unique resource to enable them to develop and expand their international media business interests. Currently, Wood is developing new programs with MediaXchange, augmenting the existing portfolio of services, geared to assist the rapid development of television professionals in the emerging markets. This industrialization of the creative process in Europe, applied with the value and renowned skills of MediaXchange´s well- respected US hosts, equips participants in the emerging territories and markets with the tools for success.

Born in Kenya to English parents, the youngest of four children, her father, a plastic surgeon, was one of the three founders of the renowned Flying Doctors/AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation). Raised on a farm on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, she holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of East Anglia. Wood´s professional career pace was set with her first job--working two years for the rock band The Who. She then moved to New York and spent ten years in the fashion industry designing her own line of jewelry, wholesaling women’s fashion nationwide and then as a fashion retailer with her own boutique in New York’s Soho.

As co-founder of Women in Film and Television (UK), Wood was responsible for the association’s continued expansion throughout Europe and is a former Board Member of the European Film College in Denmark. She is a former Board Member of The Prince's Youth Business Trust, established by Prince Charles, which supports new enterprises started by disadvantaged youth. She is an active trustee of the Kenyan Branch of Youth Business International, an extension of the The Prince's Youth Business Trust. Additionally, Wood serves as a trustee of the UK-based Media Trust promoting media as an educational tool for development within the African continent.
