Showrunner: TV Drama Series
12-17 September, 2010!

Showrunner focuses particularly on the role of the US writer/producer and the collaborative process of US series. The show’s writing and production team, as well the network, look to the Showrunner as their overall direction finder for the show’s vision, steering the characters and maintaining the pace of storylines over returning seasons. The majority of the week’s schedule will be spent meeting working Showrunners and observing the contrasting styles they use with their writing and production teams at current shows (production schedules permitting) in the Los Angeles area.  Showrunner operates in both the comedy and the drama genres.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER | CREATOR | WRITER | SHOWRUNNER

Selected meetings will also take place with writer/producers, network, studio, agency and new media contacts, supporting the Showrunner’s role, to discuss aspects of show conception, development and maintenance.  The number of meetings in the Showrunner schedule may therefore appear less than our TV Exchange schedule but you should anticipate more time being spent at particular shows, returning during the course of the week to see the progression of particular production schedules.

Showrunner includes the possibility of opting for an Inner Market session to discuss development or pitching strategies or character and story structure for your scripted project with an experienced US professional.
